Established in 2005, Rehab Engineering is a Professional Corporation licensed in the Carolinas, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. Our mission is to provide cost-effective creative design support for quality building construction to ensure that every client’s project achieves its intended purpose.

OUR SERVICES INCLUDE:

• Completing engineering designs for plan review, permit and construction
• Coordinating owner requirements with engineering and construction, including ensuring compliance with funding agency requirements
• Researching code interpretations to provide expert assistance with compliance issues
• Working with National Park Service representatives and state historic preservation officials on engineering issues related to the rehabilitation of historic structures
• Providing problem-solving, cost-saving and value-engineering proposals that bridge all engineering and construction disciplines, including architecture and financing
• Performing structural analysis of existing buildings, including locating and determining orientation, size and depth of reinforcing bars in concrete and masonry (using an eddy-current based REBAR LOCATOR)
• Performing analysis of existing building and site piping systems using a remote INSPECTION CAMERA, including determining the integrity, location, size and depth of piping
• Field measuring existing buildings to produce schematic CAD drawings which can include conceptual layouts of building circulation and apartment locations, especially useful for early economic feasibility analysis
• Providing building and dwelling unit envelope analysis and trouble-shooting for heat loss/air infiltration (using an INFRARED CAMERA) and moisture/water ingress (using a MOISTURE METER with RF probe)
• Producing ENERGY STAR rating reports to assist owners/developers to qualify for tax credits and financing incentives (including pre-construction analysis and recommendations using REM-Rate analysis software, followed by on-site performance verification testing with BLOWER DOOR and DUCT BLASTER)
• Providing coordination and assistance for LEED certification projects, particularly for Energy & Atmosphere, Indoor Environmental Quality, and Water Efficiency credits, including whole building energy model simulation using DOE eQUEST software
• Designing lighting applications and fixture placement for interior and outdoor spaces, including verification of existing and newly installed lighting systems
• Construction drawing database maintenance and organization through Field2Base mobile data solutions hardware/software
